The Theological & Christian Education Commitee has duties which reflect the two areas represented by its title.
In the area of Theological Education, the Committee oversees all areas to do with the recruitment, evaluation and training of candidates for pastoral ministry Training will usually take place in one of our colleges in New South Wales, Queensland or Victoria.
The Committee also has the duty of promoting pariticipation of suitable Christian education in South Australia. This can either be by campus based learning or by the promotion of various suitable curricula or resources.
One of the means which the Committee uses to pursue these aims is PCA Ministries. (Proclaiming Christ to Australia through the Presbyterian Church of South Australia) PCA's purpose is: 'to equip lay men and women to enable them to engage in useful and effective ministries in the Church and in the world.'
PCA Ministries seeks to do this by training with the PREZRA School of Theology and by a variety of supervised placements in parish or church planting situations.
