The Code Committee serves by taking necessary action to keep our Rules and Regulations in line with the changing policy and needs of our Church.
It is charged with being the body who oversee any changes to the Rules and Regulations. Any group or body proposing changes to Rules or Regulations consult the Committee in order that the proposal is in sound form and does not conflict with any other area of the Code. In addition, the Committee also oversees the process by which proposed changes which the Assembly has approved are relayed to the Presbyteries for their approval. The implementation and enactment of any changes to rules are brought to the Assembly in the Committee's Report.
The Committee are also available to provide guidance on interpretation of the Rules and Regulations and advice regarding procedural matters.
